What participants say about our Regional Seminars . . .

"For me, the regional seminar was a defnining moment. After thirty years of practice and nine years of teaching, I thought that I had my finger on the pulse of life, only to realize that the corpse was dead. I now see that I need to learn the TLC method and weave it into the fabric of my own life."
Joe Mirrione
New Haven, CT

"The Trial Lawyers College IN Regional  Seminar was my first TLC experience, but will not be my last.  It was truly powerful and life-changing.  I have always been a plaintiff's lawyer, but I now have new insight as well as a support group. Thank you to everyone for the experience."
Matt Boulton,
Indianapolis, IN

"As lawyers we spend a lot of time learning how to 'put together' a case for trial. We want the right interrogatories, the right exhibits, the right expert. The Trial Lawyers College ['TLC'] program focuses on intangibles rarely if ever addressed in a law school or continuing education program. . . . How do we connect with a jury as human beings? How do we convey to a group of strangers our client's pain, or innocence? How do we pull from our hearts what we want our jury to do in our client's case and empower them to a just result? Gerry Spence and the TLC have created a program which explores these worthy goals and expands the horizon from which any attorney can view his or her case."
Larry Mertes
Attorney at Law
Boulder, CO

"I will now confess that before TLC my largest verdict was less than $30,000. . . . Since TLC my verdicts have increased exponentially: $325,000 for an injured ring finger; $1,040,000 for a broken leg; then last month a record $3,800,000 malpractice verdict in DuPage County, Illinois - probably the most conservative county in the entire state of Illinois. . . If I can do it, anybody can."
Jules R. Cherie
Attorney at Law
Chicago, IL

"Thank you. Words simply cannot do justice to the training and experience.  It was more than helpful for my practice.  It was life altering."
Eric T. Krening
Honolulu, HI

"Round Top, Texas was my first experience at a TLC seminar.  I was given the opportunity to experience why and then how to deal with others for the benefit of our clients rather than being told what to do. I will return for any TLC experience that I can."
David H. Cliburn
Gonzales, LA

"THE IMPACT OF THIS SEMINAR?

You do not study, there are no books,. . . but you work more profitably than at any other seminar;
You expect to learn facts and skills. . .but you end up acquiring wisdom no one can otherwise implant;
You arrive knowing no one there. . .but you  leave knowing many as they truly are;
You arrive unsure of the cost and use of this time. . . you end knowing you can never try cases as you had before, again.
You arrive afraid of trials. . . you leave with an alternative to hopeless fear.
You at first believe you have seen and experienced all. . . then you become convinced there has always been a better way, the ultimate way, to try a lawsuit, and you did not have to suffer in order to come up with it.
Sitting and listening to Gerry, to Josh, to Joane, to Rex, to Lonnie, to all these great lawyers and teachers, I wonder how many thousands of times greater it must have been for the guy who sat on a rock two thousand years ago and listened to the ultimate TEACHER. There is truth and power in what the Trial Lawyers College teaches. . . I now want this for all those who work around me."
Joe Bufogle
Tulsa, OK

"Although I never quite know what to expect when I go to a TLC seminar, I do know that I am going to come away with a better understanding of who I am once Gerry, John, Katlin, Josh, and the TLC staff start opening up the windows to my soul.  Round Top, Texas was no exception.  While I certainly got some fabulous ideas for dealing with judges and expert witnesses, the true gems came from digging deeper into myself and going to a place of complete brokenness where, after 21 years in practice, I realized that I was not the kind of trial lawyer I thought I was.  I came away from the weekend with a newly discovered sense of purpose about being a "real" trial lawyer.  The key lies in being a "real" person first. Awesome."
T. Michael Kennedy, P.C.
Irving, TX

"Trial Lawyers College Regional Seminar in Leavenworth, Washington was the most profound training program I have ever experienced. No CLE comes close to the personal attention and depth of training. I felt the program gave immediate benefit to my practice of law and my approach to life. I look forward to future opportunities to learn from and with this group of tireless warriors for justice."
David Stewart

"The experience unwrapped years of cynism and anger.  I felt that an enormous weight had been lifted off my shoulders.  I couldn't wait to go back to work."
Jeffrey L. Rudnick, Esq.
Philadelphia, PA

"The greatest means to communicate, "connect" with anyone clients, jurors, the judge, your spouse and understand them are very simple, but elusive.  My heartfelt thanks to everyone at TLC for sharing these incredible insights to empathize, communicate and tell the story.  It was truly a profound experience.  I am a far better lawyer and person. It has changed my life."
Karl Malling
Seattle Washington

"I came to learn how to try cases better, but I got more than that. I learned about myself, so now I can try cases better."
David L. Milligan, Esq.
Fresno, CA

"In 15 years of practice, this is by far the best and most powerful seminar I have ever attended; the fact that it is a working session where you get on your feet and actually apply the principles right then and there, as opposed to just listening to talking heads, is one of its strengths.  I have also never experienced such open and unconditional willingness by fellow lawyers to help each other with the exercises and with real cases. Thank you for the privilege of attending."
Mariano Morales
Yakima, WA

"What a dynamic interactive seminar! I have attended many different seminars, but none match the content and hands on approach offered by TLC at regional seminars.  I will be attending the next TLC seminar."
MJ Keefe

"Any honest testimonial about Trial Lawyers College is going to sound too good to be true.  TLC changed my life forever - not just as a lawyer, but as a person. I didn't want the seminar to end."
Ron Estefan

"Most of us fear juries.  We find the three worst jurors and exclude them.  Then we hope for the best with the rest.Gerry Spence teaches you to connect—and I mean connect—with jurors.   It is so much better when twelve friends decide your case."
Bob Dawson
Seattle, WA

"I have already incorporated many of the ideas from the Round Top "Difficult Judges" program into my daily practice, i.e., such as asking a judge for "help" resolving a problem rather than gritting my teeth, arching my back and citing a code section.  It works.

The main lesson I took away from Texas was the importance of really listening to another person when they are trying to talk to you, and also reconnecting with the feeling of knowing how good it feels to know that someone cares enough about you to listen without judgment or qualification.  It is a lesson that I try to incorporate into my work and relationships every day: everyone wants a to have voice, to be heard, and be acknowledged as a valuable, worthwhile person - regardless of what they are accused of.

While listening and sharing, you realize the things in your life you think are the most personal (secret, painful, scary, shameful) turn out to be the most universal. Virtually everyone can relate to one another on an emotional level in some way when we take the time to really listen to what the other person is saying (or not saying) and how they are saying it.  This is what I am learning through the people and process of TLC."
Mark Helm
Public Defender

"In just a little over 3 days, the TLC method awakened my spirit that had been put to rest by the crush of the judicial system, by overzealous prosecutors, tired judges, and a vengeful community.  I like myself again as a person, father, husband, and son which gives me the courage to seek justice for my clients, my friends.  The TLC method has also given me some insight into what it can be like to practice law by intuition, to advocate without thinking twice, like breathing.  I am re-inspired to no end.  Thank you."
