Description of College Programs Held at Thunderhead Ranch

Graduate Course I
Before we can tell our client's story, we must know your own story. As Gerry says, "It all begins with you." This course is available only to graduates of TLC. As a graduate, we already know the power of psychodrama in helping us to better know ourselves, our clients, our jurors and even our judge. Psychodrama is the foundation of what we do, and it has applications in every aspect of our lives as trial attorneys. The more experience we have directing and exploring roles the better. Come back to the ranch and spend a week immersed in psychodrama. This course will provide opportunities to improve your directing and doubling skills as well as opportunities to be a protagonist.

Graduate Course II
Grad II is an intensive, one-week trial skills program at Thunderhead Ranch. It is designed for advanced practitioners of TLC methods. With psychodrama as our foundation, we call on students' creativity, and we work together to find new and innovative answers to the most challenging questions of trial practice. While this program focuses on trial skills, it does so through a holistic approach encompassing all parts of the trial with psychodrama. Winning justice for our clients is not about just doing one part of a trial well - - it is about integrating all of the skills needed in trial with psychodramatically discovering the story and understanding our role in our clients' lives.

Advanced Course: 'Alive' in the Courtroom
To be a lawyer requires only passing the bar. To "bring the story to life in the here and now" of the courtroom requires a full human being. Is this lawyer one the jurors can trust, one whose credibility they can actually see and hear? To choose a leader for their tribe, jurors must feel the whole person, authentically alive in their world. Here our method teaches how to release the physical and vocal restrictions inhibiting the natural music of speech and spontaneity of gesture in all our languages — verbal, non-verbal, silence, and sensory which can truly engage and guide.

Trial Lawyers College
The Trial Lawyers College is an opportunity to spend 3 weeks unwrapping a wonderful gift box. The box contains "how to's" on Jury Selection, Opening Statements, Direct & Cross Examinations as well as Closing Arguments. It is a box full of surprise and intrigue. Once the box is emptied, it is tossed away and the focus is turned to one's personhood.
