| Death Penalty Seminar |  | |
The representation of an individual charged with a capital crime is the highest calling for a lawyer. The cost of representation reaches deep into our souls. At the Trial Lawyers College death penalty seminar we strive to walk in the shoes of our clients and to understand the impact of the crime on all the people touched by the tragedy. We bring together teams to discover the story of the client; we work on direct examination of the family of the accused and the experts presented in the mitigation stage. We look at jury selection and how to seat a jury that can hear the evidence that justifies life
This continuing law education program will focus on and address techniques the trial lawyer can use to successfully and adequately represent and understand a defendant facing the death penalty and to defeat death. You will be exposed to and become familiar with the method developed over the years and taught by experienced professionals (such as Gerry Spence) at the Trial Lawyers College.
Participation at our Death Penalty College will teach you to:
- help the jury crawl into the hide of the client;
- know and understand the jury;
- discover the story and win;
- empower the jury to stand up against the injustice of the death penalty
In addition, this CLE Course will teach you valuable skills in how to personally survive the emotional intensity of a death penalty case and to deal with your own issues while fulfilling your obligations as an attorney.
